Short names are easier to type and to say out loud. A real word plus one small twist (a second word, a short number) usually reads better than a long string of digits. It's also worth leaving out details like your birth year, town or full name — a username tends to follow you across many sites, and it's simpler to keep personal details out of it from the start.

- Try a less common keyword (a nickname, a favourite object, a made-up word), switch style, or combine two ideas from the list. The Professional style produces the cleanest names for work accounts; Fun and Gamer add more variety and numbers, which makes a free name more likely.

Method
Each username is built from your keyword (or a random noun if you leave it blank) plus words drawn at random from short built-in lists — adjectives, nouns, prefixes and suffixes that differ per style — and, for some patterns, a random number. Each style has around ten patterns (for example adjective + keyword, keyword.noun, keyword + tag + number); the tool keeps drawing until it has 12 different names. Keywords are trimmed to letters and digits. There is no external data source: the results are random combinations, not suggestions from any service, and they aren't checked against existing accounts or trademarks.
