FAQ

What's a healthy BMI?
The WHO defines 18.5–24.9 kg/m² as the normal weight range for adults. Below 18.5 is classed underweight, 25–29.9 overweight, and 30+ obese.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
BMI doesn't distinguish muscle from fat, so it can misclassify very muscular people as overweight, and it uses different risk thresholds for some populations (the WHO sets lower overweight/obese cutoffs — 23 and 27.5 — for Asian populations, who show cardiometabolic risk at lower BMI values). It's a screening tool, not a diagnosis.
